About Me

I'm Gemma. Exploring life, out loud.

Looking back, my life makes a lot more sense now than it did while I was living it.

At the time, I was just getting through one chapter without knowing how it would shape the next.

Now I can see there was a thread running through all of it.

I was always the child asking why. Why people behaved the way they did. Why some people seemed to find life easy while others quietly carried the weight of the world.

School wasn't my favourite place. I was bullied, and for years I thought the answer was to become more like everyone else. It took me a long time to realise I was never meant to fit into someone else's idea of who I should be.

When I was sixteen, I had an accident that changed a few things I hadn't expected. It left me without my sense of smell and introduced me to anxiety long before I understood what anxiety even was. At the time, it was simply another thing to get on with.

Life carried on.

I became a mum.

Built businesses.

Lost businesses.

Divorced.

Fell in love again.

Got things wrong.

Started over more than once.

Looking back, every chapter gave me something. I just couldn't always see it at the time.

Somewhere along the way, I realised I wasn't searching for the perfect life.

I was trying to understand why we become who we become.

Why we drift away from ourselves so quietly.

Why we spend years living on autopilot before suddenly wondering how we got here.

Those questions became LYL.

Not because I have the answers, but because I love exploring the questions.

Today, I explore those questions out loud.

I think.

I write.

I notice patterns.

I turn complexity into something a little easier to understand.

Then I share it.

I'm still learning.

Still questioning.

Still changing my mind when life gives me a reason to.

The more I understand about life, the more curious I become. I have a feeling that will never change.

My dream isn't simply to build a successful business.

It's to leave behind something that lasts.

Ideas.

Books.

Journals.

Conversations.

Work that makes someone stop for a moment and think,

"I've never looked at it like that before."

Because sometimes that's all it takes.

A different perspective.

A better question.

A moment that changes everything that comes after it.

If you've found your way here, I'm really glad you did.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We start by identifying and discussing your immediate feelings and challenges. From there, we define what you truly value and desire moving forward. The process is highly interactive and tailored to help you reconstruct a sense of self and direction in your life.

Yes, absolutely. Just like a confidential medical or therapy session, everything we talk about is kept between us. This confidentiality is vital for creating a trusting environment where you can feel safe to open up and explore sensitive aspects of your life.

The time it takes to see progress varies significantly from person to person, depending on the depth of the issues addressed and your commitment to the coaching process. Typically, clients who actively engage and are open to exploring and applying insights gained in coaching begin to experience noticeable changes within a few weeks to months. This can range from feeling a renewed sense of energy and purpose to making concrete steps towards redefining their lives.

Coach: A coach focuses on setting and achieving specific goals in personal or professional life. Coaches help you clarify your goals, identify the obstacles holding you back, and devise strategies for overcoming each obstacle. While coaching can be supportive, it’s generally not designed to address psychological issues. The process is more about empowerment and guiding you toward future successes, rather than healing past wounds.

Therapist: A therapist, or psychotherapist, is a trained mental health professional who helps people address and treat emotional and psychological disorders. Therapy focuses on resolving past issues that impact current behaviour and emotional functioning. Therapists may employ various psychological techniques to help you understand and heal from past trauma, dysfunctional thought patterns, and behaviours that cause distress in your life.

Counsellor: Counselling can be similar to therapy but often focuses on specific issues or shorter-term treatment. Counsellors help you deal with specific life issues, such as addiction, grief, stress management, and relationship problems. They provide guidance and support, helping you develop coping strategies and effective ways to deal with the challenges you face.

Goal-Oriented Guidance: A coach helps you clarify and achieve specific goals by creating a structured plan, which is invaluable if you know what you want but aren't sure how to get there.

Accountability: Having a coach keeps you accountable, greatly boosting your motivation and commitment to your goals. Regular check-ins ensure you stay on track.

Skill Development: Coaching is excellent for developing specific skills such as leadership, time management, and communication. A coach provides feedback and resources to help you improve effectively.

Overcoming Obstacles: A coach aids in identifying and overcoming barriers that may be holding you back, offering strategies to tackle both logistical and emotional challenges.

Personal Growth: Through coaching, you gain better self-awareness, enhance your strengths, and address weaknesses, leading to significant personal development.

Future-Focused: Coaching is primarily focused on the future, helping you move forward and create the life you envision for yourself.

Flexibility: Coaching sessions can be tailored to fit your specific needs and schedule, adapting to your preferred style, whether it's face-to-face, over the phone, or online.
