About Me

I’m Gemma Sayer. Coach, big-feeler, straight-talker, and I've been a single mum. I help women find their way back to themselves when life’s knocked them sideways.


I’m not here to sell you a dream. I’m here to be honest.


I know what it feels like to completely lose yourself, after a breakup, a breakdown, or just years of holding it all together for everyone else. I know how heavy it gets when you’re running on empty, but still expected to carry on smiling.


I’ve been there.


Divorced. Burnt out. Diagnosed with anxiety and agoraphobia.
Running three businesses with two young kids and pretending I was fine.
Then came lockdown, and everything I’d built fell apart. That’s when things got really real.

But instead of trying to ‘bounce back’, I did something different.


I slowed down. I faced the stuff I’d been avoiding.
And I rebuilt my life in a way that finally felt like mine.

That’s why I created LYL—Love Your Life.


A promise to myself. And now, to you, too.


Why I Coach

I became a coach because I’ve lived the work.
Because I know healing isn’t linear.
Because I know what it’s like to cry on the bathroom floor and still show up the next day.
And because I don’t think you should have to figure it all out alone.


I work with women who feel lost, overwhelmed, or like they’ve had the rug pulled from under them, whether it’s a life change,  a breakup, or just the slow build-up of “I don’t recognise myself anymore."


My sessions are real. We don’t fluff things up. We talk about the messy middle. The what-now. The fear, the anger, the numbness, the shame.


And then we figure out what you want from your life and how to take the next step towards it.


What I Bring

I’m a distinction-certified coach, a Reiki Master, and someone who’s had to rebuild more times than I can count. I’ve also worked in high-pressure business roles and know what it’s like to be successful on paper and fall apart behind the scenes.


I bring strategy, intuition, and a lot of compassion, but I’ll also call you out (gently) when needed.


My gift is helping you see what’s underneath the surface and reconnect to your truth.

The Human Bit

I live in Heathfield with my kids, Eryn and Harrison, and our rescue dog, Loki. I drink too much tea, overthink everything, and love deep chats more than small talk.


I’m dyslexic, probably ADHD, and definitely someone who sees through the noise.


I’ve felt like I didn’t fit in for most of my life, until I realised I was never meant to.


Now I help other women stop abandoning themselves, reclaim their power, and actually feel good in their own skin.

We start by identifying and discussing your immediate feelings and challenges. From there, we define what you truly value and desire moving forward. The process is highly interactive and tailored to help you reconstruct a sense of self and direction in your life. 


 Yes, absolutely. Just like a confidential medical or therapy session, everything we talk about is kept between us. This confidentiality is vital for creating a trusting environment where you can feel safe to open up and explore sensitive aspects of your life. 


 The time it takes to see progress varies significantly from person to person, depending on the depth of the issues addressed and your commitment to the coaching process. Typically, clients who actively engage and are open to exploring and applying insights gained in coaching begin to experience noticeable changes within a few weeks to months. This can range from feeling a renewed sense of energy and purpose to making concrete steps towards redefining their lives. 


 

Coach: A coach focuses on setting and achieving specific goals in personal or professional life. Coaches help you clarify your goals, identify the obstacles holding you back, and devise strategies for overcoming each obstacle. While coaching can be supportive, it’s generally not designed to address psychological issues. The process is more about empowerment and guiding you toward future successes, rather than healing past wounds.


Therapist: A therapist, or psychotherapist, is a trained mental health professional who helps people address and treat emotional and psychological disorders. Therapy focuses on resolving past issues that impact current behaviour and emotional functioning. Therapists may employ various psychological techniques to help you understand and heal from past trauma, dysfunctional thought patterns, and behaviours that cause distress in your life.


Counsellor: Counselling can be similar to therapy but often focuses on specific issues or shorter-term treatment. Counsellors help you deal with specific life issues, such as addiction, grief, stress management, and relationship problems. They provide guidance and support, helping you develop coping strategies and effective ways to deal with the challenges you face.


Goal-Oriented Guidance: A coach helps you clarify and achieve specific goals by creating a structured plan, which is invaluable if you know what you want but aren't sure how to get there.


Accountability: Having a coach keeps you accountable, greatly boosting your motivation and commitment to your goals. Regular check-ins ensure you stay on track.


Skill Development: Coaching is excellent for developing specific skills such as leadership, time management, and communication. A coach provides feedback and resources to help you improve effectively.


Overcoming Obstacles: A coach aids in identifying and overcoming barriers that may be holding you back, offering strategies to tackle both logistical and emotional challenges.


Personal Growth: Through coaching, you gain better self-awareness, enhance your strengths, and address weaknesses, leading to significant personal development.


Future-Focused: Coaching is primarily focused on the future, helping you move forward and create the life you envision for yourself.


Flexibility: Coaching sessions can be tailored to fit your specific needs and schedule, adapting to your preferred style, whether it's face-to-face, over the phone, or online.
