Gemma Sayer Love your Life - Life Coach

About Me

I’m Gemma Sayer, founder of LYL Life Coaching and creator of the Your Journey Journal. I’m a certified life coach, Reiki Master, and mother of two. My work is shaped not only by training but by lived experience of burnout, heartbreak, and rebuilding a life from the inside out.

I know the weight of survival mode,  appearing strong and capable while privately feeling exhausted, uncertain, or lost. That is why I created the LYL Method, a five-phase journey designed to help ambitious but tired women step out of confusion and into clarity, confidence, and direction.

Through my coaching, journal, and programmes, I guide women back to themselves. The result is stronger boundaries, steadier choices, healthier relationships, and the quiet freedom of living a life that finally feels like their own.

Why I Coach

Because I understand what it means to hold everything together until the weight becomes too much.

Because I know the silent cost of being the strong one.
Because I believe no woman should have to find her way alone.

I coach women in the “in-between”,  after the ending, before the next chapter, caught in the uncertainty of “what now?”. You may feel numb, tired, or as though you no longer recognise yourself. You are not broken. You are simply worn out from surviving.

My role is to create space for you to pause, reconnect with your truth, and take the next right step, not from pressure or perfection, but from presence.

What I Bring

Distinction-certified training and decades of lived experience through motherhood, business, burnout, and healing.

A unique blend of strategy and soul,  practical tools anchored in deep inner work.
An approach that is honest, compassionate, and grounded.

I hold space for the whole of you,  the weary, the resilient, the uncertain, the powerful — and I help you see what has always been true: you are enough.

The Human Bit

I live in Heathfield with my two children, Eryn and Harrison, and our rescue spaniel, Loki. I am dyslexic, prone to overthinking, moved easily by beauty, and more comfortable in depth than in small talk.

For much of my life, I believed I did not fit in. In time, I came to see that I was not meant to.

Now I walk beside women who are ready to return to themselves. If you are done with appearances and ready to feel like you again, I would be honoured to support you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We start by identifying and discussing your immediate feelings and challenges. From there, we define what you truly value and desire moving forward. The process is highly interactive and tailored to help you reconstruct a sense of self and direction in your life.

Yes, absolutely. Just like a confidential medical or therapy session, everything we talk about is kept between us. This confidentiality is vital for creating a trusting environment where you can feel safe to open up and explore sensitive aspects of your life.

The time it takes to see progress varies significantly from person to person, depending on the depth of the issues addressed and your commitment to the coaching process. Typically, clients who actively engage and are open to exploring and applying insights gained in coaching begin to experience noticeable changes within a few weeks to months. This can range from feeling a renewed sense of energy and purpose to making concrete steps towards redefining their lives.

Coach: A coach focuses on setting and achieving specific goals in personal or professional life. Coaches help you clarify your goals, identify the obstacles holding you back, and devise strategies for overcoming each obstacle. While coaching can be supportive, it’s generally not designed to address psychological issues. The process is more about empowerment and guiding you toward future successes, rather than healing past wounds.

Therapist: A therapist, or psychotherapist, is a trained mental health professional who helps people address and treat emotional and psychological disorders. Therapy focuses on resolving past issues that impact current behaviour and emotional functioning. Therapists may employ various psychological techniques to help you understand and heal from past trauma, dysfunctional thought patterns, and behaviours that cause distress in your life.

Counsellor: Counselling can be similar to therapy but often focuses on specific issues or shorter-term treatment. Counsellors help you deal with specific life issues, such as addiction, grief, stress management, and relationship problems. They provide guidance and support, helping you develop coping strategies and effective ways to deal with the challenges you face.

Goal-Oriented Guidance: A coach helps you clarify and achieve specific goals by creating a structured plan, which is invaluable if you know what you want but aren't sure how to get there.

Accountability: Having a coach keeps you accountable, greatly boosting your motivation and commitment to your goals. Regular check-ins ensure you stay on track.

Skill Development: Coaching is excellent for developing specific skills such as leadership, time management, and communication. A coach provides feedback and resources to help you improve effectively.

Overcoming Obstacles: A coach aids in identifying and overcoming barriers that may be holding you back, offering strategies to tackle both logistical and emotional challenges.

Personal Growth: Through coaching, you gain better self-awareness, enhance your strengths, and address weaknesses, leading to significant personal development.

Future-Focused: Coaching is primarily focused on the future, helping you move forward and create the life you envision for yourself.

Flexibility: Coaching sessions can be tailored to fit your specific needs and schedule, adapting to your preferred style, whether it's face-to-face, over the phone, or online.
