About Me

 I'm Gemma Sayer, a dedicated Break-Up Coach based in Heathfield.


My journey through life has been filled with challenges, personal growth, and significant transformations. I want to share a part of that journey with you.


Why choose me as a coach? 

As your coach you're picking someone who gets what it’s like to face life’s tough moments. I’ve been through my own challenges and I've been helping others navigate theirs, especially after breakups or when you feel you’ve lost your way. My background in life coaching and as a Reiki Master means I bring a mix of practical advice and holistic healing to our sessions. This approach helps not just with the immediate issues but also supports deeper, lasting changes. Having built and run my own coaching business, I know how to guide you through rediscovering your strengths and setting goals that feel true to who you are. I’m here to support you in getting back on track and finding your footing again.

About Me: 

Growing up in a nurturing family with two sisters, I often felt out of place due to my emotional sensitivity and struggles with dyslexia, which led to bullying and a misunderstood childhood. These experiences, while painful, have been instrumental in shaping my resilience and understanding of self-acceptance. Despite these early life hurdles, my entrepreneurial spirit thrived. I launched and grew three successful beauty businesses, showcasing my strength and dedication even as I navigated the complexities of a marriage that ended in 2018, leaving me to embrace the role of a single parent to two wonderful children. The diagnosis of social anxiety disorder, generalised anxiety disorder, and agoraphobia in 2019 marked a turning point, propelling me towards self-improvement and healing. Meeting Simon that year brought new love and support into my life, demonstrating that overcoming heartache was possible. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 led to the difficult decision to close my businesses. However, this setback became a catalyst for rediscovery. By 40, with the guidance of influential coaches and mentors like Jenni, Georgina, Becci, Amnesty, Kate, Nicola, Michelle, & Gen, I found my true calling as a Break-Up Coach. 


 

My mission as a coach is to provide compassionate support and practical guidance to those rebuilding their lives following a significant relationship breakdown. I empower my clients to uncover their resilience, rewrite their stories, and rediscover joy and purpose. Drawing on my own life experiences and a deep sense of empathy, I am committed to helping others navigate their unique journeys of healing and transformation.


Specialising in personal coaching, relationship coaching, and life transition coaching, my goal is to be the guide I once needed, offering encouragement and direction to individuals in Heathfield and beyond as they move forward toward recovery and self-discovery

 In our sessions, we focus specifically on navigating the aftermath of life-changing events such as breakups or significant shifts in personal identity. We start by identifying and discussing your immediate feelings and challenges. From there, we define what you truly value and desire moving forward. The process is highly interactive and tailored to help you reconstruct a sense of self and direction in your life. 


 Yes, absolutely. Just like a confidential medical or therapy session, everything we talk about is kept between us. This confidentiality is vital for creating a trusting environment where you can feel safe to open up and explore sensitive aspects of your life. 


 The time it takes to see progress varies significantly from person to person, depending on the depth of the issues addressed and your commitment to the coaching process. Typically, clients who actively engage and are open to exploring and applying insights gained in coaching begin to experience noticeable changes within a few weeks to months. This can range from feeling a renewed sense of energy and purpose to making concrete steps towards redefining their lives. 


 

Coach: A coach focuses on setting and achieving specific goals in personal or professional life. Coaches help you clarify your goals, identify the obstacles holding you back, and devise strategies for overcoming each obstacle. While coaching can be supportive, it’s generally not designed to address psychological issues. The process is more about empowerment and guiding you toward future successes, rather than healing past wounds.


Therapist: A therapist, or psychotherapist, is a trained mental health professional who helps people address and treat emotional and psychological disorders. Therapy focuses on resolving past issues that impact current behaviour and emotional functioning. Therapists may employ various psychological techniques to help you understand and heal from past trauma, dysfunctional thought patterns, and behaviours that cause distress in your life.


Counsellor: Counselling can be similar to therapy but often focuses on specific issues or shorter-term treatment. Counsellors help you deal with specific life issues, such as addiction, grief, stress management, and relationship problems. They provide guidance and support, helping you develop coping strategies and effective ways to deal with the challenges you face.


Goal-Oriented Guidance: A coach helps you clarify and achieve specific goals by creating a structured plan, which is invaluable if you know what you want but aren't sure how to get there.


Accountability: Having a coach keeps you accountable, greatly boosting your motivation and commitment to your goals. Regular check-ins ensure you stay on track.


Skill Development: Coaching is excellent for developing specific skills such as leadership, time management, and communication. A coach provides feedback and resources to help you improve effectively.


Overcoming Obstacles: A coach aids in identifying and overcoming barriers that may be holding you back, offering strategies to tackle both logistical and emotional challenges.
